We spent a wonderful Memorial Day holiday at
Ray Roberts Lake!

We spent hours and hours playing and relaxing at the beach there at the state park. We all love the beach and didn't realize there was a way to get a little bit of our "beach fix" so close to home!
It was a beautiful day with perfect weather for a day at the lake.

Mark did a great job getting us prepared for the day away. He went shopping for our picnic supplies...bought yummy iced teas, potato chips and all the stuff for sandwiches, which he also made. Thank you, Sweets! Everything was delicious and yummy! We even had perfect summer watermelon.

Okay, someone obviously also managed to find the cookies. Have I mentioned that I live with two cookie monsters? :)

Ainsley played for hours! It was so fun being out there together--talking, laughing, and being "unplugged" from everything else.

If you're local to north Texas, I would recommend checking this place out this summer. We went to the Johnson Branch unit. It was only an hour away from home and we hope to get there again.

It actually felt like we were on vacation, being at the beach and having all day to play. The second best part, next to the family fun, was that it cost all of us $10 to get into the park, so it is cheap family fun!
There are lots of picnic tables and grills available, so we might get more adventurous next time and try those out, too! We'd love to go with family and friends!

Her face pretty much sums it up!
