Guess Who Came to Dinner?

We had an AWESOME time a couple nights ago, with our new friends from The Earth Expedition. If you don't know what that is, go ahead and check out their website. Don't worry, we'll still be here when you get back. Go look at--it's amazing.

Okay, if any of you cheated and haven't checked out their site yet, I'll tell you just a taste. This is a small group of people walking AROUND THE WORLD to raise awareness for the global water crisis--especially in Africa. They are using this incredible feat as a platform on which to speak, educate and raise money for Blood:Water Mission.
And, yeah, they came to our house, so we're pretty cool by association. ;-)

Daren, on the left, has already walked from Georgia to Maine, the whole Appalachian trail, and beyond on into Canada. Then he came back to California and commenced walking east across the southern part of the United States. Bryan, on the right, is joining him the rest of the way across the south and then will be taking the banner of The Earth Expedition on to Europe!

I am so pround of Mark who gave up two of his prized possessions to give these guys each a well-ventilated soccer shirt for their hiking. Daren says this represents about 1/3 of his shirts now. He sold EVERY thing he owned to go on this trip except for a couple boxes of memory items and what fits in his backpack.
We had a fabulous time together. We are like-minded and united in a passionate cause. They were here briefly before starting the walk back up again. I am happy to say that they will be hiking through here in a couple months and we hope to set up a speaking opportunity for them when they come back through. If you want to be a part of this, let me know!

After all the serious talk, the silliness began. Full force.

Daren couldn't even keep a straight face in the pic below.

Ainsley was included in the silliness and found another photographer for whom to pose!

This about sums it up:

Another incentive for checking their website: We are on the homepage! :) I'm sure it will change soon, though!
