...and came to the most incredible rest stop a couple hours down the road. It had a great playground and a small nature trail with bluebonnets! We got some of the best trip pictures there.
Ainsley our budding photographer took this next one.
Finally, after 5 stops total (yes, I know it's only 5 hours to Galveston!) we made it to the beach.
After a yummy seafood dinner, we went to ride the free ferry! This is an awesome thing to do when in Galveston. We parked our car in the lot and just walked on and rode it across and back.
We had so much fun watching the seagulls and we even spotted dolphins on each ride!
What a sunset!
Then we drove an hour back to downtown Houston and our hotel. The trip was off to a wonderful start!

Wow, it looks like you had a wonderful time. Ainsley is a great photographer, too. Loved all the pictures.
We take Cella down to Moody Gardens every summer, and your pictures just made me itch for summertime! What a fantastic family trip -- so many fun memories! And that little Ainsley may have a future in photography!
