Scenes from a (sort of) small town parade

Frisco honors its veterans each year with a parade. It is so much fun to attend! There are all types of floats, marching bands from all the high schools and, well, some things that I think you may only find in smallish Texas towns. Take a look for yourself!

Most importantly, of course, are the veterans themselves.

Ainsley is kept entertained for the whole parade because so many of the floats/walkers pass out candy!

This picture is for our friend Evan. I don't know if I'm saying this right, but we thought it was a "popping john" because of the sound it made. Did I get the name right? [update by Mark -- we thought it was a "Johnny Popper." I saw the "History of John Deere" video at Evan's house, learned a lot, and was impressed to actually see and hear one of these historic tractors -- the original John Deere, way cool!]

I figured it must be pretty hard to play in the back of a moving truck!

And the grand finale...Santa Claus!

We knew we were going to be seeing Santa in the parade, so this morning I asked Ainsley what she wanted Santa to bring her this year. Her answer? A horn. Hmmm....I'm going to have to give some thought as to whether elves can make horns or not. I'm thinking not.
